Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce (GTACC) 2019 Legislative Scorecard

Every two years the GTACC’s Government and Legislative Affairs Committee works diligently to create the GTACC’s Legislative Priorities ahead of the upcoming Texas Legislative Session. The Committee comes together to craft a top legislative priorities list, which is then submitted to the Chamber’s Board of Directors for approval. Once approved, the Legislative Priorities are distributed to the GTACC membership and state elected officials. The 2019 Legislative Priorities promote a pro-business climate. During the Legislative Session, Chamber staff tracks bills that relate to the Legislative Priorities and can formulate a response and take action if needed.
At the end of the legislative session, the GTACC, as an organization dedicated to the continued economic success of the greater Tomball area, releases a legislative scorecard that outlines the actions taken by lawmakers regarding our priorities. The scorecard is not intended to grade our local delegation, it is meant to highlight where each legislator stood on the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2019 Legislative Agenda.
“We are fortunate to have great legislators working for our community and to have strong relationships with them not only during the legislative sessions, but throughout their tenures representing our area” states Colleen Gilbert, Chair of the GTACC Government and Legislative Affairs Committee. She continues, “We are proud of their hard work, as well as the committee members and volunteers who have taken the time to help create the priorities and distribute them in Austin”.
