Boys and Girls Country Recognizes Community Partners
HOUSTON—On Wednesday, Jan. 30 Boys and Girls Country (BGC) will recognize outstanding donors, volunteers and community partners who have made a significant impact in the lives of more than 100 children and young adults during 2018. The honorees include Lakewood UMC Men’s Group, Southwestern Energy, Houston Methodist, Deacons of Deadwood, Harper & Pearson, Fayez Sarofim & Co, Oklahoma Christian University, Lennar/Village Builders and others. These community partners will be joined by the BGC Boards of Directors and management team at Amegy Bank.
“Through their contributions of time, talent and treasure these incredible community partners helped us fulfill our BGC vision that every child has a place to grow up and a sense of being home. These people and organizations helped children like Joseph overcome trauma of living on the streets and gave him a chance to fulfill his educational dreams,” commented Executive Director Vincent Duran.
The organization will also acknowledge the following outgoing board members for their significant contributions: David Bishop, Mike Gatewood, Chuck Scianna.
Partners recognized in the past include ConocoPhillips, Woodforest National Bank, Mac Haik Automotive Group, Schulte Building Systems and others.
Since 1971, Boys and Girls Country of Houston, Inc. (BGC) has cared for 1,483 children and young adults in need.
