2017 Northwest Harris County Healthy for Good Heart Walk

Fall in step with the American Heart Association! Over 3,500 Northwest Harris County residents will lace up their sneakers to rally behind the American Heart Association’s fight against heart disease and stroke at the 2017 Northwest Harris County Healthy For Good Heart Walk on Oct. 21, 2017. For the second year in a row, the Northwest Harris County Heart Walk will take place on Lone Star College – University Park’s Vintage Park area campus in North Houston located at 20515 Texas 249 Access Rd, Houston, TX 77070. The Northwest Harris County Heart Walk, chaired by Keith Barber, the CEO of Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, is a FREE, family-friendly 5K, promoting heart-healthy living while raising funds critical to supporting cardiovascular research and education programs right here in Houston. Participants are encouraged to make teams and wear their team t-shirts! Dogs are also allowed to participate. Heart Walk is the signature fundraising event of the American Heart Association’s Healthy For Good campaign. Healthy For Good is designed to inspire all Americans to live healthier lives and create lasting change. It focuses on the simple idea that making small, simple changes today can create a difference for generations to come. The approach is simple: Eat smart. Add color. Move more. Be well. Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital and Noble Energy Inc., are the local signature sponsors of the event. Opening ceremonies begin at 8:30 a.m. with the walk starting at 9:00 a.m. The Northwest Harris County Heart Walk will kick off the American Heart Association’s Greater Houston Heart Walk season.
